Ubuntu Empowerment Services in Partnership with Metropolitan Holdings created the Metropolitan SMME Portal with the key objective of providing small, micro and medium enterprise businesses with a platform to market themselves and to give emerging informal business access to the mainstream economy through enterprise development, procurement opportunities and linking them to opportunities on offer from the preparations for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

We recognise that small business is critical to our economic recovery and strength, to building South Africa ’s future and to help South Africa compete in today’s global market place.

Although this initiative is being launched in the Eastern Cape Province, the strong Partnership between Ubuntu Empowerment Services and Metropolitan Holdings will see the Metropolitan SMME Portal rolled out to all Provinces throughout South Africa.

The Metropolitan SMME Portal will enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of South Africans, through an extensive network of trained professionals and strategic partnerships with public and private organisations.
